I highly recommend this book! Have you ever finished a book and considered starting all over again? That was how I felt after staying up way past my bedtime to finish this one.
Is Calla a little bit superficial and annoying at first? Definitely, but her growth throughout this book is one of my favorite aspects. She went from an ok character to one I absolutely adored. Then we have Jonah, our bruting Alaskan heart throb that stole my heart. While they didn't get along at first, the progression of ...more

I've heard such good things about this book and after reading The Great Alone I have an immense fascination with Alaska! Although the simple wild isn't quite as serious as The Great Alone it was still an emotional ride. It might sound like a superficial romance just by the synopsis but it also packs an emotional punch. It's about family and community and forgiveness. It proves that family isn't always just who you born with.

Does a book ever take you completely by surprise and you love it even more for that? I have read several cute, light books recently. And with The Simple Wild by K.A. Tucker I was expecting more of the same. A book solidly at 3 or 4 stars. Cute. Fun. Simple as that. And those The Simple Wild was these things, it was so much more than that.

This is not my typical read but so glad I did. I truly felt like I was in Alaska and learned so much from this book. And the story, omg, love, loss, regret, forgiveness, sorrow, growth it's all those things and more!

Made me feel things: 5 stars
Plot: 2 stars
Romance: 3 stars
I think that all averages out to 3 stars.
Wow, was Calla insufferable for the first half of the Simple Wild. I assume that was purposeful, to make her arc seem more dramatic, but I had a hard time believing she was 26 years old. (She sounded like an ungrateful teenager.)
I really wanted to love Jonah - men with BDE are my favorite - but he too often acted in a way that just wasn't great. It's not that hard to be kind to people, especially wh ...more

The Simple Wild is about a city girl named Calla who heads off to Alaska to meet her dad for the first time. While there, she has to deal with Jonah, the hot but very rude pilot who works for her dad.
I am a big fan of the hate to love trope. Jonah and Calla’s witty banter made me laugh out loud many times. I’ve also added Jonah to my ever growing list of book boyfriends. How many book boyfriends is too many?

I put off reading this book for a whole year because of the Bookstagram hype surrounding it. I was afraid I wouldn't love it because everyone else did.
I ended up liking the book but it didn't make me cry like it did for everyone else. I did think this book was more than just a romance. It was about family and forgiveness too.
I loved the banter between Calla and Jonah and I can't wait for book two to experience more of it.

I recently discovered my love for K. A. Tucker’s books. Her books have been on my radar for a few years now, but for one reason or another I hadn’t picked up any of them until earlier this year, and now I’m obsessed. For this reason, and the enormous praise I had heard, I decided to pick up The Simple Wild.

Re-read 10/2021.
I was feeling a little slumpy and decided to pick up one of my favorite books to help me out of it. Calla and Jonahs story will never get old to me.
Calla is completely out of her element. Wren Fletcher is a bush pilot that her mother fell in love with years ago and left when she couldn’t handle the rough lifestyle in a rural Alaskan town. And he’s sick. Knowing this might be her only opportunity to know her father, Calla heads to Alaska to spend some time with him. Along the wa ...more

Everyone I know have raved about this book and some reason I kept putting it off. If you haven’t read it yet, I say go and read it ASAP. This book was so good!!!
I loved the banter between Calla and Jonah and the story that develops between them. This book is more than a love story. It makes you want to visit Alaska for the beautiful landscape and the native people. It explores relationship between an estranged father and also explores what is really important in life. The Simple Wild was the perfect amount of romance and a bit of steam for me.
Complicated family relationships, slow burn romance with rugged pilot, AND set in Alaska? Yes, please!!! I think I’m pretty critical of romance books that I read, but I honestly LOVED this one! If you are looking for a contemporary romance to read and want to feel like you’re in Alaska with some wonderful we’ll-written characters I highly recommend this one! 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
