He makes lots of selfless decisions, showing the importance of helping others and not always putting yourself first. Being set in Indonesia, this book provides an insight into how different people's lives are in less developed countries, with teenagers working in factories rather than going to school and many people living in slums. Kick is a very gripping and enjoyable book, and would be great for year 5/6 readers.
