The illustrations in this were beautiful. The story explores sibling rivalry, as the little girl feels jealousy of her sister, who is always described by her family as a star. The overall message of the story is to "shine in your own way", clearly an important message but a slightly abrupt ending overshadowed the importance a little. Stardust was shortlisted in the 3-6 category of the UKLA Book Awards 2019.

A little girl is overshadowed by her older sister. Her sister is recognised for her accomplishments and called a star but the little girl is not. Her Grandad explains briefly about the creation of the universe and that everyone is made of stardust and therefore she is also a star.

I found the illustrations by Briony May Smith warm and engaging but I was disappointed with the story itself. I do not believe that the message
