I have mixed feelings about this book. On the one hand, I enjoyed reading from the perspective of someone with Asperger's. It reminded me of both Marcelo and the Real World and Jack Gantos' Joey Pigza books. It also made a lot of interesting points about agency and free will. This book really takes the reader into the mind of a woman with Asperger's Syndrome. The prose is written in the literal way that someone with Asperger's might think. The reader is only shown the world through the point of view of this young woman, and is shown how confusing the world can be, especially figurative language.
