I am thrilled at the ending. THRILLED! The drama, oh...the drama. It's awesome.
Shadows of Pearl is a good read, not great...but good. I am not drawn to the characters as much as I want to be. Some of the language is just downright stupid. (if I had to read anyone talking about her "pearlette" one more time I was going to vomit. And, really? your V-8???)
At 40, I would expect that Pearl would be a bit wiser and not such a wimp. She was so in awe that she could be loved by a wealthy young man, it ...more
