[close] Sometimes a comedian's performance doesn't translate well to the written word, and it may even fall flat (think: Tina Fey's "Bossypants"). However, Kaling's book was HILARIOUS. It was hilarious in the way that you might relate to a "Curb Your Enthusiasm" episode. In other words: you know you've experienced or at least can relate to the event that Kaling/Larry David is describing, but Kaling/Larry David takes it to a whole new level. Read it. You will find yourself on the el, laughing out loud.
