I started off intrigued by the concept of this book. The characters were interesting, Lucius was both annoying yet charming, and the idea of secretly being some long lost vampire princess seemed like it had caught my interest. Unfortunately, about 25% of the way through, this book seemed to go downhill for me. By the time I got halfway through I was bored and forcing myself to read it. Essentially it felt like the plot had slowed down and the characters became more annoying.

When this book came out a few years ago every time I stepped into Borders (moment of silence for the now perished bookstore) I would stop before it and contemplate whether or not I should buy it. I wanted to read it, that was for sure, but I never really felt like I wanted to read it badly enough to spend $17 on it. Now, I'm pretty glad that I didn't. I'm so mad that I waited this long to read this book. I thought that because of the title and cover it seemed cheesy but it had my full attention from the start. Although for young adult readers, it is a fun story for any age. I love that for once the girl doesn't fall for the guy right off the bat. The story is interesting and the characters are strong and funny at times. Can't wait to read more!
