What Members Thought
I was highly disappointed in this book, not because of Jennifer Close's writing style, but because of the following reasons:
1.) By the time I finished the book, I had no emotional attachment what-so-ever to any of the characters. So badly I wanted the characters to be more developed so I could get that attachment to them to keep myself to keep reading the book because I wanted to find out what happens to them instead of just wanting to read the book so I can move onto the next book I have waitin ...more

I found the characters difficult to distinguish and was frustrated because so many of the vignettes were about women getting dumped or staying with men they didn't really love just to be with someone. I might have appreciated this book more when I was in the period of my life when I was watching all my friends get married, but now it just seems tired.

Girls in White Dresses was so hilarious and down-to-earth. I couldn't turn the page fast enough, yet I didn't want it to end. As soon as I got to the last page, I wanted to flip right back to the beginning and start all over again. You won't regret reading this debut novel by Jennifer Close.

I thought this book was OK. There were times when it had me reflecting back to the insecurity I felt while in my 20s and trying to make my mark on the world. But most of the times, I felt the relationships were too shallow.
If there was ever a misleading description, it was just listed above on Goodreads. I had really high expectations and was so excited to see such stellar reviews. What a disappointment. It felt like Jennifer Close plagiarized from some really great books and didn't quite get the story right.
