At first glance the artwork is rather simple and un-engaging. I particularly enjoyed the way she shows the earlier events entirely from a child’s perspective. A sometimes bloodthirsty, sometimes fantasy-ridden, almost always blind-to-shades-of-grey child. In that sense the simplisticness of the artwork matches the simplicity of the child’s thought processes. She is so very true to the life of young children, who rarely do see nuances.
