I read this book in my English class as well and it was really interesting! Personally, I think that events that happen in this novel kind of relate to what's going today with the fact that women aren't seen as equal as men. Antigone is the perfect example of a strong female leader who won't take crap from no one. Also found it surprising that this was written during the Ancient Greek period.
