Upon my sister’s insistence, I finally gave this book a try. When I first started it, I honestly thought to myself, what’s so great about this it?? I don’t get it…How is it different from the millions of other Afghan stories out there? I may not completely have an answer to that question, but I know for sure that by the end of the novel, this book had nestled deeply into my heart.
