I don't think I've written a full review for this book when i read it two years ago, but just know I really loved this story just as much as the first time if not more 🥺🤍. Reading the poet x really did move me as a young Black Muslim woman who is quiet yet loves to write as a way of using written words to communicate feelings. I relate to xiomara so much from being a daughter of an immigrant mother to being a writer and wanting to express so much without shielding ourselves. I defini ...more
