Personally, I think this is one of the most perfect books ever written and the best peice of American Literature ever written. The first time I read this I was in high school and dove into it. By the last five pages of the most eloquent prose I've still to this day ever read, I was crying like an Italian widow.

This is one book that I will never tire of reading. The fact that it's told from a child's perspective is what makes it so touching.
Children aren't fearful of people, by nature. They are taught to fear. They learn who they can trust from their parents and grandparents.
