I enjoyed this historical fiction book, even though I hadn’t read the first 2 in the Quarry Bank Mill series. Set in farm lands and cotton mill industry of 1900s Lancashire, England; this book focuses on the next generation of the Sefton and Priestly families. I love that it mentions a book by Mary Wollstonecraft, the mother of Mary Shelley who wrote Frankenstein, and that it “… filled the farm girl’s head with too many ideas of feminism”.
