I enjoyed reading this book. The author's descriptions are great and one can feel the tension wax and wane as our character goes through his many escapades. Thankfully, this is a short book, because I couldn't put it down until the very end - so I read it in one sitting. The ending with the character's doubts about the others keeps the reader in suspense until he sees the others morph into the evil beings that he knows them to be. ...more

“I believe everything out of the common. The only thing to distrust is the normal”.

This is the original spy novel that started them all - and it really gives you all the elements: A murder mystery, a suspenseful chase, an airplane, a train, disguised mansion, a yacht.... Really the only thing missing is the scantily clad women.
