Is the nature of man to grow or stay the same. Depending on which book version you read the book reads both ways.
I think there are alot of ideas in this book that are not fully played out. Ideas like: violence in society, the role of state in life, revenge, growing up. These themes were mentioned but never resolved.
I did find the idea of young people fantasizing about violence instead of sex or success interesting, but again it was never really explored.
