He kissed down to the "anima nera" tattooed across Silvio's chest...
Silvio seemed way too precious now to leave him to any stranger, let alone two or four, or anybody else. If he'd been able to, he'd have washed the traces of every touch away. Carved all hurt, pain, resentment, disappointment, and failure out of his soul and burned it.
-This is why I'm reading. This is the emotion I want in a book. ...more

This installment is on the sweet side. Silvio and Stefano seemed to be more in love than in lust.

My memory is completely going, because I swear I wrote reviews for all the books in this series, which means I have to do this fantastic series justice and read every single book again as well as read the sex scenes at least ten times, of course for reviewing reasons. I can't get the review wrong, now can I? Reviewing is a serious process ... so let's up to rereading the sex scenes to 15 times!

Dark Soul Vol 4 has three short stories, all told from Stefano’s POV. Both his personal and professional life is slowly coming apart. Trying to keep control as leader of the mob, who he suspects are planning to oust him and having to do something about the Russian mob as well, are just some but not all of his problems. He’s struggling with the conflicting deep, emotional feelings he has for Silvio and the love he has for Donata and wants to have them both in his life and he has no idea on how he

Vol. 4 contains Dark Rival I, Dark Rival II, and Dark Temptation. More of the territory battle between the Italian and Russian mobs. If anyone at all forgot how ruthless and terrifying Silvio can be, this will set you back on track. Also, shower sex, hotel sex, and Donata continues to be a BAMF.
“‘What if it does mean something?’
Silvio smirked, as if pleased that Stefano had remembered. ‘Then we’re both fucked.’
No kidding.”

In Dark Soul 4, Stefano Marino's life is falling apart - on every level. While the war with the Russian mob is taken care of by Silvio and his brother Franco, his authority is challenged by his own famiglia. At the same time, Donata, his wife, is getting increasingly suspicious about the changes she perceives in him - in his character, his behaviour and in his treatment of her. But what should Stefano do? Asking Silvio to leave is as inconceivable to him as losing Donata. But how could he tell h

Probably a 3.5 for overall. I would say a 3 for Dark Rival I, a 3.5 for Dark Rival II, and a 4 for the last one.
Will post a more elaborate review in the future, but I didn't quite enjoy this volume as much as the previous 3. I think this volume didn't feel like 3 separate shorts, but rather 3 scenes if that makes sense. The first two each time they ended I kept thinking "wait, really? end it there?" but the last one felt a bit more singular. Still looking forward to the last. ...more
