I LOVE this book!!! It is absolutely beautiful in style as well as sentiment. Fletcher loves his tree, but when autumn comes he begins to fear that something terrible is happening--for the leaves begin to turn color and fall off. Is his tree ill? Mother assures him that it is just the change of the seasons, but Fletcher is still worried for he loves his tree as it is and it's hard to imagine it any other way.
