Lessons in Life started out brilliantly, posing a thought thought-provoking question and promising to do more of the same. Unfortunately, the rest of the book did not live up to that promise.
Some of the metaphors worked quite well, such as "the woman who only ate chips for every meal" or "going barefoot", but others were just too simplistic, lacking in nuance. This book is a great reminder to pay attention and learn from our daily life lessons. Nico J. Genes offers her own experiences and how she was able to learn valuable lessons from them. It is a nice collection of stories to remind us to be helpful, kind, and thoughtful.
