I enjoyed this story, but was a little disappointed in Phaeton Black. Although he was an interesting and unusual character, his obsession with sex was a bit over the top and I wasn’t too happy with the way he treated America Jones or really most of the women in the story. Some of the language as well as Phaeton’s actions are coarse and somewhat obnoxious, but he did have some redeeming qualities that I could appreciate, such as his helping America and placing himself in danger to do so.
