You could say S.A. McAuley has a way with words ... And my God but you’d be right! She has a way of weaving a story that just sucks me in, and holds me tight – right til the end! Leaving me begging for more! I loved her book “Immovable Solitude” and this new book, part of a brand new series, maintains her high standard of storytelling. If I tell you that there were parts that had me thinking about Special Forces and Rifter – then you know just how good it must be!

I rated this a little higher than I thought it read because I think the overall series has potential. The plot and world building are really good. The author has an interesting way of pulling you into the story and letting you see the world as it is in the story.

Wow. This is my first SA McAuley, but it won't be my last. A world set in the future filled with conspiracy, treachery, war, and two men on opposite sides. Do not mistake this for a romance, because it definitely isn't. It's an astonishing beginning to a new series that I can't wait to read more of.
Wow. Yeah, I've got nothing better than that, truly. ...more

Merque and Armise are hard men to love. They are men built to kill. They do not talk much, and when they do you don't know if you can fully trust what they say. They know nothing but war and each other. Even if they are sworn enemies. They are not simple men. They do not live in simple times. You can't help but fall in love with these two alpha men.
