I find it difficult to come up with superlatives to describe this story. The author has a great 'voice', very distinct. The descriptive passages are rich and beautiful. The way she describes the artwork of one of the MCs brings them to life. The world-building is so very clever. Ashlin has created a fascinating alternate world where war has become an everyday thing.
