The book seemed to take on too much for such a short story and was unable to focus enough on any one aspect. While I liked the characters, I wasn't invested in the insta-love between the two MC's. I could understand the lust, but they didn't spend enough time together for me to actually get a feel for why they were so taken with each other after such a short amount of time, much of it with one character in the hospital or injured. The story had potential but felt too rushed and was

The Fireman and the Cop is a great start to a new series of books set in the sleepy American town of Ellery. The book focus on the relationship between volunteer Fireman Max and local Cop Finn. Neither Finn or Max are used to relationships but fall for each other instantly, I liked this, I love the idea of just knowing someone's right for you. The investigation into who's hurting Finn and why is well paced and keeps the reader hooked all the way to the last page. I liked this book, yes its short ...more

I would have rated this higher but...the proofreading for this was really bad. I normally try not to judge by this but this should have been better than it was. There were a ton of issue with the whole of the book. Others have mentioned it enough that that is all I will say on it.

I thought the premise of the story was good. It was cute and quirky. The story itself was too short and too easy. There was no mystery to it. Also there was little to no world building. I know this a contemporary and th

First off, understand that this is a gay romance. The two guys who meet and fall in love in this story are amazing. They aren't stereotypes, but real (strong and sexy) public service heroes.

Personally, I love a great story that's about the characters' courtship. I'm also a crime show fan, so the author's great storytelling on investigating the arson (which is central to the plot) drew me into the book further and held my fascination until the end. And then I wanted more!

Superb characterization.
