I know what you're probably thinking, Destanye how racist of you to give the anti-racist book a 2! But trust me there is no hateration in this dancer-y, I really didn't enjoy this book. It took me a long time to finish and the sigh of relief that was heard around the world when I got to the last page doesn't scream good book.

CONS
- I wasn't a fan of the authors writing style. He did not write in a compelling fas I know what you're probably thinking, Destanye how racist of you to give the anti-racist book a 2! But trust me there is no hateration in this dancer-y, I really didn't enjoy this book. It took me a long time to finish and the sigh of relief that was heard around the world when I got to the last page doesn't scream good book.

CONS
- I wasn't a fan of the authors writing style. He did not write in a compelling fashion and it seems like his theories were going in circles. I felt that in different chapters he was contradicting himself from previous chapters and wasn't really making a cohesive statement.

- I'm sure you felt my eye roll when he said that Black people could be racist and that we have enough power to not be able to use that as an excuse for our racism. If we had so much power that how come a black agenda hasn't come to fruition. If we have so much power how come those who push the conservative white agenda are the only ones that have become successful. For politicians in the political realm trying to get into good trouble, it's an uphill battle to get policies that would positively affect the Repub white constituents as well passed because they would positively affect the minorities and they don't want that. They stop progress because it's progress!!! So, this will be confusing and harmful for a white person reading this because black people CANNOT BE RACIST we can be prejudice (even towards our own people) but we cannot be racist.

- I rolled eye my eyes even harder during his colorism chapter and how he used to wear light eye contact. Let's be honest his stories that are supposed to help us understand and relate to his anti-racist theories and rhetoric were HORRIBLE examples. I looked at him as for lack of a better word, lame. I feel that he had no friends in FAMU or Temple, lol.

- Even though the book was short (big pro) it still was a long way to get through those 238 pages to get to the acknowledgments.

I'm just not a fan and really couldn't get into it at. He felt very Uncle Tom to me and said some dangerous things and harmful language that can be misconstrued for people who don't know any better. I'm nervous to read Stamped from the Beginning if this is his writing style and how he tells stories. Maybe Stamped is better because it came first, who knows? But don't let me taint your thoughts read it and let me know what you think.
