What Members Thought
Too many young or neophyte readers come to Camus really seeking someone like Herman Hesse. Camus seems exotic and rogue-ish; an outsider; his 'existentialism' (in itself a mistaken label) is so often mistaken for a tacit 'approval' of aloofness, remoteness; iconoclasm; emotional detachment and alieninity.
