"Linell Jeppsen's science fiction novel Story Time is a wonder, a remarkable, touching, deeply empathetic spinning of a fable about the End Times that could happen as soon as 2016. There are natural disasters galore, with Mount Rainier melting in a terrible eruption, earthquakes that devastate the entire West Coast, tsunamis that devastate Hawaii in an event exceeding the Indonesian quake and tsunami, radioactive pollution from the Hanford Nuclear Reservation in Washington state, and the cries o "Linell Jeppsen's science fiction novel Story Time is a wonder, a remarkable, touching, deeply empathetic spinning of a fable about the End Times that could happen as soon as 2016. You come to care for Naomi, her lover Michael, her brothers Zack and Josh, Dr. Andy, Steve, Gary, Lori, Aunt Wendy and the several hundred people who seek safety at Harmony Ranch. Each of them is a real person, fully fleshed out. Even when details are few, you know these are real people facing the unimaginable. There is a majesterial sweep to this novel. Technically, its scene pacing and multiple points of view work flawlessly. I could sing more praises, but to put it simply, once I began reading this novel I could hardly put it down. Now I don't normally read Christian fiction much. Usually I find them overbearing in their message but this novel is different. There is much of tolerance and love here. Like many of Ms Jeppsen's works this one starts slow but builds to a strong and satisfactory ending. There are many deep characters in this story, ones that you can love or hate and so very much going on.
