I am a huge fan of the series and Qhuinn is one of my favorite characters but I've got to admit that i was looking foward to an ending. This book was a little bit slow and all the extra side stories really bothered me.
Qhuinn and Blay deserved HEA, but the ending was a little bit sappy for my taste. Ultimately LOVER AT LAST was a good read but it most definitely was not as good as Lover Awakened and Lover Reborn.

I want to start off by saying, if you have read the other BDB books, you really should read this book. That being said...

I was so upset when I read this book. The book as it stands could have been half as long. I mean I was screaming "to F**K with Assail and Trez" throughout the whole book. She could have written a shorter book, but still longer than half, and actually shared Qhuinn and Blay's story. I mean I've been waiting since what like book 2 or 3 (and this is book 11!) for Qhuinn and Blay I want to start off by saying, if you have read the other BDB books, you really should read this book. I was so upset when I read this book. The book as it stands could have been half as long. I mean I was screaming "to F**K with Assail and Trez" throughout the whole book. She could have written a shorter book, but still longer than half, and actually shared Qhuinn and Blay's story. I mean I've been waiting since what like book 2 or 3 (and this is book 11!) for Qhuinn and Blay's story and I get how many chapters that were really about them? There were only like 3 or 4 really good chapters about them and this was the longest book yet in the series!!!!! I really felt like she left out a lot of the story between the two characters. Details that we would have gotten if the couple was a male/female couple. I really think she sold out on this book. I wonder if she was being pressured by us who wanted this story, but was still worried about loosing those readers who don't agree with male/male relationships? I feel that this should have been a love story, with all of the angst and ups and downs we normally would have been given, but I feel that it was lacking. Other than the few chapters, it felt like we got to the end of this very long book and the love story was rushed into completion in the last few pages. The book in general was not a love story, but a story of Qhuinn, Assail, and Trez with a bit of Layla, Beth, and Wraith thrown in. It felt more like a crossroads that a true story.

Even so by the end I was wanting to know the rest of Assail's and Trez's stories and she left Assail in a cliff hanger - AND now I hear she's doing another book on WRAITH!?!?! REALLY? WTF!?! I really think she may have lost me as a reader. I thought it through and I know there were a lot of little snippets dropped here and there about Beth wanting a baby and Wraith not wanting one, and how they are going to try and de-thrown him because of Beth being a half breed and their children not being guaranteed to be vamps. But, really!? A whole other book for them, when she didn't given this one justice and left us hanging on two story lines that she thought were so important that she had to interrupt this story with them! Furthermore, I've heard that a second book for Rage and Mary is in the works as well.

I'm really torn, because I have loved this series, but I'm really totally disappointed at this moment. The writing in and of itself was phenomenal as usual, but I just didn't get the story I was expecting or wanting. ...more

This was much awaited! I really enjoyed it, but I will say there is a ton of filler, it isn't just Blay and Qhuinn's book. I enjoyed reading about Assail and Sola, as well as Xcor and Trez and Layla, but it seems like even though this is still moving, it is almost spreading too wide. I feel like we have lost the heart of the Brotherhood, there is so much going on that it is hard to focus on the Brothers that make the series.
