I'm glad that I was finally able to find out why everyone is so excited about this book, but ultimately, it just wasn't for me. Part of the problem was that a lot of the drama revolved around the Grievers, which were some strange monster/robots that I was never really able to picture. I was definitely interested in some of the characters, but none were fully developed and several were indistinguishable. I must admit... First I heard about this book was via the trailer for the movie. I like Dylan O'Brien as an actor and my interest was piqued... I read this right after reading Card's Pathfinder and Ruins so I was a little disappointed in the book. But always happy to see new authors enter the field of YA literature. Anything that gets people to read.
