I just loved this book. It's funny, smart, irreverent, poignant and thought-provoking. I know I'll be thinking about Hazel Grace and Augustus for a long time after finishing this book. That Augustus Waters. He really comes in and shakes up Hazel's nice and quiet life. May we all have an Augustus Waters come into our lives.

This is a "young adult" book that isn't watered down to appeal to teens. It's a well-written book that happens to feature teenagers. They are smart kids, maybe too smart becau

Oh man. I cried on the subway. And then for an hour as I finished it once I got home. When I was a kid I would read books that made me cry. I would reread them mercilessly. Specifically, I remember Tiger Eyes by Judy Blume. When I was much younger I couldn't even make it through The Education of Little Tree by Forrest Carter;* I was crying so hard my mom got worried. One shouldn't expect a happy ending when reading a book about two teenagers with a terminal illness falling in love. Regardless, I don't recommend reading this in public.

As one of those things is a novel, this book did ring all my bells. It glazes over the more adult part of it's YA label. When I was the

I must be in the minority in this but for some reason this book was just not sitting right by me. I agree with someone else who mentioned that the characters were just WAY too wise for their respective ages and that made the book very unbelievable. It was such an easy read and the pages did flow quickly together.

This is my big ten. So says Hazel Grace.

This book make me feel like I was repeatedly stabbed and had involuntary jags of crying - all while on a plane. Great experience. Aside from the few HOURS of public humiliation of crying uncontrollable, (tip: read in the privacy of your own home, car, office) this is an amazing book.
