Absolutely phenomenal. From the first paragraph, I was hooked. The addition of drawings really bring out the story and fully flush out the creepy vibe of it all.
Mallory is a 19 year old recovering addict at her first chance at a job now that she's sober. It's to nanny for a couple and their 5 year old child. Mallory was easy to understand and like. I felt bad for her regrets and really loved her new embracing of her world. And, of course, I was horribly jealous of her run times!

This was such a fun creepy read! I didn’t know where it was going and that was one of the good things. The slow build up was good too. My only complaint might be that the ending seemed a bit drawn out. It’s a shame the author doesn’t have more books out.
For three-quarters of Jason Rekulak's Hidden Pictures, I was on the edge of my seat, immersed in a fascinating world where I was questioning everything happening through the eyes of potentially unreliable narrator Mallory. Mallory is a recovering addict who takes a job as a live-in nanny for Ted, a young boy drawing strangely disturbing pictures that may or may not relate to a local ghost story.

Was at least a three star till the twist and I automatically quit reading.
This book was so unique. Though categorized as a horror book, I would classify it more as a supernatural suspense. No gruesomeness, or torture at any point, but still maintained a creepiness factor that kept you on edge throughout.
Without giving too much away, the story revolves around recovered drug addict Mallory Quinn, who takes a job as a live-in nanny for a young family. Their son Teddy is a sweet boy, but starts to reference an imaginary friend of sorts that has him drawing increasingly d ...more
