Crying in H Mart is a grief memoir about the author’s mother.

Michelle Zauner lost her mother in 2014 after a painfully short battle with cancer. She also seems to have mostly lost her father who fell apart as his wife died. Michelle copes through Korean food, watching YouTube videos of Maangchi cooking the greatest hits.

It seems that just about everyone read this last year, so I'm going to add on my very belated thoughts to all the reviews already out there. For the very few of you who have not yet read this AND don't know what it's about,this is a memoir about a Korean-American woman, forging her own identity, and the loss of her mother and the grief that accompanies that.
