I loved the movie and picked up the book in hopes of learning more. Unfortunately Shetterly tried to pack in too many details in an effort to recognize every person and contribution, to the point where it all ended up getting lost in a confusing jumble that is half narrative, half Wikipedia entry.
I can’t figure out if Shetterly was in a rush to get the book out, couldn’t decide on the tone, or if she is simply not a writer. The research is good, the topic important, but the book lacked narrativ ...more
