I feel like it goes without saying that Lisa Jewell wrote another 5 star thriller. I went into this book with very high expectations, determined to make Lisa work for all 5 stars. By the end of the book I had no doubt the rating but struggled finding the right words to review it!

Wow, I'm not QUITE sure what I just listened to. This is a wild ride. Wild, wild ride.
I started this AGES ago and wasn't in the right headspace to finish it. But I've listened to the rest of it this week and I'm glad I did. It's twisty and clever and the audio book does it justice (although I did speed it up a bit). A good psychological thriller for 2023! ...more

Thriller are my favorite to read. The book, especially the audiobook kept me engaged in the story. But for me, so many holes in the book. It wasn’t tied up in the end. Usually, the twists in a book make you rethink about them. This was not the case with this book. The ending left me feeling like in the end it was a waste of time to read this one.
I really enjoyed this! The regular chapters interspersed with the documentary and podcast was so interesting (podcast fiction has basically become its own genre lately, but making a podcast and THEN turning it into a documentary was a new approach!) I was also impressed with the range of emotions this book elicited, that was really well done. Overall, I would definitely recommend this!
Dark and disturbing. Not sure I could recommend it, but it was quite the page-turner.
