What Members Thought
This was good, but it's always tough to read a book that has such massive hype. Very rarely does it ever match up. I feel like there was almost a great book in here, only that I didn't believe all the characters were real. They often behaved too much like characters in a novel, rather than leaping off the page. Still, an enjoyable read.

A wonderfully complex family drama. It's been awhile since I've met a fictional family that had me so engrossed and captivated as the Padavano girls of Chicago. I loved how fiercely they loved each other and how messy life was and how they bent and broke and rebuilt.
I also loved how basketball saved William and gave him support and family and purpose.

Hello Beautiful was a book club selection and I probably wouldn't have read it on my own, but I really enjoyed it.
