Maddie is a young woman who cares for her father who has Parkinson's in London while her mother lives in Ghana to run a family business and her older brother tends to his own life and doesn't lend a hand. When her mother tells her she is moving back to London for a year, Maddie takes the opportunity to move out and discover who she is and grow into adulthood at twenty-five years old.

You’ve probably heard people talking about Maame and it deserves all the kudos. I had a feeling going in what the tragedy mentioned in the synopsis would be, it still hit me hard. This came so hyped up, and it completely lived up! If you somehow haven't heard of this yet, this is about Maddie, a 25-year-old in London who is the primary caretaker for her father who has advanced Parkinson's while her mom lives in Ghana most of the time. She's been a rock for her family for so long that she is struggling to figure out her place in the world.
