Maddie is a young woman who cares for her father who has Parkinson's in London while her mother lives in Ghana to run a family business and her older brother tends to his own life and doesn't lend a hand. When her mother tells her she is moving back to London for a year, Maddie takes the opportunity to move out and discover who she is and grow into adulthood at twenty-five years old.

I couldn't listen to this one fast enough. I loved Maddie and couldn't root for her enough as she experienced life

You’ve probably heard people talking about Maame and it deserves all the kudos. I had a feeling going in what the tragedy mentioned in the synopsis would be, it still hit me hard. This was very, very well done. Maddie feels like a younger version of myself despite us having very different lives. If you somehow haven't heard of this yet, this is about Maddie, a 25-year-old in London who is the primary caretaker for her father who has advanced Parkinson's while her mom lives in Ghana most of the time. She's been a rock for her family for so long that she is struggling to figure out her place in the world.
