A fast-paced YA mystery with an interesting protagonist. My interest waned just a bit in the 2nd half, and I thought the love triangle was clumsy and unnecessary. But I enjoyed the puzzles and games, Avery (of course), and all the details of the house. Definitely enjoyable enough to move on to the next book.

Shelves: mystery

For a book that had more annoying characters than not, I found this to be an addictive read. The author is good at keeping up the pacing and the reveals. It’s also an easy read. And Avery is likable when she’s not acting like a ninny over the boys.
