This is a lovely book about loss and acceptance. It evaluates the impact of a life and what you leave behind. But what really makes this book stand out is its characters. I loved the core group: Hugo, Mei, Nelson and Apollo. They will melt your heart. Wallace's journey is heart-wrenching but also heart-warming. The mysteries of the afterlife are sensitively explored. I was very impressed, but it didn't quite bring the tears like I thought. A Nelson moment was close though.

I had heard mixed reviews of this book and, after having read "The House in the Cerulean Sea", I was nervous that I wasn't going to like it as much.
TJ Klune has succeeded, again, in creating a world around the real and surreal.
His quirky characters are loveable and relatable.
Of course, any scene that has a dog in it, I gravitate towards and mostly, I worry about the dog the entire time. haha. I'm a sucker.
