I’m late to the table on this one. I enjoyed it, but as I finished it I felt it was predictable, and was underwhelmed. My first thought was This is what everyone is raving about? I don't get it.
I've decided to skip writing a full review on this one since so many other Goodreads users have stated their feeling far better than I could on this one.

Let me tell you, this book deserves the hype!
This is a beautiful story of Kya, the "Marsh Girl". After being abandoned by her family, 7 year old Kya had to learn how to fend for herself. However, she wasn't completely alone, she had Tate who would look out for her and Jumpin' at the bait shop.
After a betrayal from Tate, Kya starts a relationship with Chase Andrews, a boy in town. Years later, Chase Andrews is found dead and the measly clues lead to Kya's involvement.

I loved so many things about this book. I loved Kya, the protagonist. I found her resourcefulness and personality interesting and the hardships she endures to be compelling. The story kept my attention from beginning to end.
I only have one criticism. When I first began reading the book I thought that it was going to be an intimate look at the life and mind of Kya. It seemed to me that about a third of the way through plot points became as important as the character. My problem with that was tha ...more

It was an amazing story and that ending, it was really well crafted to the point of where all your thoughts are not where they were supposed to be.
