The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger is the beautiful story of librarian Henry De Tamble and his soul mate Clare Abshire. Henry suffers from chrono displacement disorder, a genetic mutation that causes him to leap frog back and forth in time. The book is written in the alternating viewpoints of Henry and Clare, from their first meeting in the meadow near Clare's childhood home (Clare is just 6 years old, while Henry is 36,) through all their experiences in "real time" as adults.

Truth be told...I read the first chapter or so and said "what the f bomb?! Someone better make sense of this jib jab asap or I'm doomed to slog thru it." (Damn right I'm a book warrior...I soldier on no matter howe boring, insipid or plagaristic, obviously, just look at my track record.
Then...it all starts to piece together in your brain...mainly because at first you fight the rediculous notion, then with enough persistence and persuation and detail it starts to make sense...which creeps me out. ...more

I LOVED this book...it was sort of confusing at first, you have to get through the first few chapters before you understand the storyline and flow of the writing. But its worth it!!! I could not put this book down, and I was so emotionally attached to the characters and story...like bawling my eyes out. I am SO excited for the movie (this summer!!!!) and if they messed it up, heaven help them...

This is one of my all time favorite books, the way she is able to shift from past to present and then the future and you are still able to clearly follow the novel is spectacular. This type of topic is always confusing to me...the "what ifs" I was impressed on how easy it was to follow and fall in love with all of 'him'.
