Surprised how much I liked it by the end! A bit of a slow build up, but I ended up loving how it came together.
Katsa is my favorite kind of heroine. Strong, smart, and flawed. The supporting cast is good, too. Po and Bitterblue help make Katsa who she is by the end. And she is flawed, to be sure. What did I think? I think this book was WAY over hyped for what I got in this story. The only really interesting thing about the characters were the Gracelings with their different colored eyes. The world-building didn't seem extraordinary to me. It was just a run of the mill fantasy story. I've built stronger worlds in RP games in a few hours of dice rolling. I really didn't get the hype.
