What Members Thought

There are 4 main characters in this book and some really great side characters as well. The story is told in 4 points of view which I really liked, it kept it interesting knowing what the main players were thinking, and they are:
Joana is the beautiful nurse from Lithuania who is traveling with a group of other individuals, they are all fleeing to safety.
Emilia is a scared Polish girl all on her own trying to disguise her nationality from the Germans. Florian is the handsome mysterious Prussian ...more

3.5 rounded up. It took me a bit to get pulled into this, but it really got good. And by good I mean tragic and heartbreaking. I am so glad this author digs into less know parts of history I always learn something new about history. It’s that and her character work is what makes her stories for me.
