A wonderful historical fiction book which brings to light the the untold casualty of the Weilham Gustlaff the ship that promises freedom

When Poland is attacked by Russian on one side and Germans on the other the is a large population which is moving to escape being caught by either. Joanna , Florian, Amelia and Alfred are on the journey hoping to escape the brutality of war, each carrying with them secrets and horrors of war and hoping to reach the ship which will carry them to safety

Four teenagers from different backgrounds, keeping different secrets, all end up on a ship while fleeing Russians in East Prussia during World War II. Told through alternating perspectives, this is an exciting, fast-paced, historical fiction book about a largely unknown event during the war. And yet, it's not really about that.
