What's that phrase- this book gave me the feels. Picked it up because of course everybody has read it by now and it's going to be turned into a movie, and I started it on the plane ride up to Seattle. One minute I'm crying and the next minute I'm LOL, and I just wanted to tell the person sitting next to me on the plane "This book is so good!" by way of explanation. There are some beautiful lines that I would have highlighted if I had been reading this on Kindle about love and death and life and

I loved this book. I have a soft spot for crotchety old guys. I kept reading bits to my husband and he said Ove reminded him of his Swedish grandfather.
I really enjoyed how the story of a Man Called Ove slowly unfolded so you learned about his past and his present at the same time. I loved the chapter titles and the little illustrations. I especially loved this sentence: You're the funniest thing she knows. That's why she always draws you in color."

I am not really sure what to think about this book. I did like it and I do think it deserves its rating but I am also still processing it. I think that it is worth reading it and the character is very entertaining. It is a sentimental story with very cantankerous and strange situations. I might read it again eventually

I loved this book! I highly recommend it. It's funny, it's sad, it's heartwarming and best of all, it's different!
Ove's story is unusual -- as is he. The author has done a terrific job of setting up this character as a controlling, set-in-his-ways curmudgeon and it takes a village to make a difference in his life. The book is set in modern-day Sweden (which explains the main character's name) which in its own way adds to some of the uniqueness of the story.

When I first finished this book, I did g really have strong feelings one way or another. I just didn’t care about the characters at all. After discussing the book at a book club meeting, however, my thoughts changed. After that I really disliked some of the choices that the author made. I know this book is beloved, but for me it missed the mark.
