This book has sat on my bookshelf for many years. The reason was I didn't really like the cover and it was BIG! I used to like big books, but have found them difficult to take with me places as I'm a voracious reader. I bit the bullet and got it as an audio book for my daily walks.
I've ended up listening to it at every opportunity for two weeks, some parts I had to re-hear as they are vital to the tale and I had become engrossed in my work (instead of the radio its been "The Name of the Wind"); ...more

I am not really sure what to say about this book except I am so sad it is over. Normally I will read a book and get to a point where I am like almost done let me knock it out.

If you are looking for a true epic story then give this one a go it is well worth it.
I cannot wait for book 2!

I suppose because the fantasy world is so close to ours, its relatable. But those who read for another world wouldn't find this book appealing. I think Kvothe is brilliant. I wish some mysteries would get solved though. Guess I just have to keep reading the rest of the trilogy. :) Its kinda said to see the now-Kvothe waiting to die where as the then-Kvothe such a hero
