A young girl goes along with the peer pressure of her classmates in excluding a new student. Despite the new girl's attempts to befriend the other children, none of the children like her toys, clothes, etc., and intervention from the teacher fails. One day, unexpectedly, the teacher announces that the new student will not return to school. The narrator begins to examine her feelings about how she treated the new student and how she lost chance to be her friend.
