Fry Bread is an homage to Native American culture, expressed through the medium of a story about fry bread. The book talks about how fry bread symbolizes many things in Native American cultures, different shapes, tastes, and colors, but also different experiences, some good and some bad. The book ends by relating all of the differences and nuance present in fry bread, to the parts of the reader that make them special.
