As her name suggests, she is very mean and nasty to her classmates, she always wants to be the first to try things in the playground, and none of her classmates can resist because she would hurt them by pushing, smushing and much more. Then a new girl, Katie Sue joins the school and things change. Mean Jean tries her best to make Katie Sue follow her lead, but Katie Sue resists and finally changes Mean Jean by killing her with kindness. With the crafty choice of words and vivid illustrations, this book will help adults to discuss bullying with children, to establish awareness of the issue, and prepare them to fight against the issue without adults’ intervention.
