This is a great book showing what confidence can do for a child. I would use this book in a classroom not only to showcase diversity but to encourage children to talk about what empowers them and what gives them confidence. Understanding what makes a child feel confident is an important thing for teachers to know so they can highlight/compliment those aspects as a way to show care and support.

This is a great read aloud book for all children and adults. I think everyone feels new and fresh after getting a haircut. As a teacher, I would ask the children what makes them feel good? Is it a fresh haircut, a new hairband, a new T-shirt?
