This Robert F. Seibert award-winning book, is about a Cherokee family/community and what they are grateful for throughout the seasons. It represents cultural background, words, and rituals natural to the Cherokee. I appreciated that significant words in Cherokee and translated to English. This gives children the opportunity to pronounce words unfamiliar to them. It is a beautiful celebration of gratefulness and community.
