This book gave great examples of empathy, what it means to be kind, and how to be kind. There were diverse characters included and a variety of ways to act with kindness.
In a classroom setting, I could use this book to start a kindness chain. Listing all the ways in which a student could be kind to one another on little heart-shaped sticky notes and string them along the wall in our outside the classroom. This could help students become more aware of acting with kindness.
